Areas of expertise

Six areas, each backed by his articles or by a certification. Article counts update with each new publication.

  1. 01

    Experimental hut trials

Designing and running experimental hut trials, the WHO reference for measuring what a net or an insecticide does to wild, free-flying mosquitoes.

  2. 02

    Nets and new insecticides

Evaluating long-lasting nets, new chemistries such as chlorfenapyr, PBO or pyriproxyfen, and indoor residual spraying, following WHO guidelines.

  3. 03

    Insecticide resistance monitoring

Measuring how resistant local Anopheles are, from bioassays to kdr mutations and detoxifying enzymes, and what that resistance costs malaria control.

  4. 04

    New tools for the home

Testing the tools that complement the net, EaveTubes, the lethal house lure, attractive sugar baits and screening.

  5. 05

    GLP-certified studies

Studies run under the OECD Principles of Good Laboratory Practice at the VCPEC-IPR, one of the five African centres certified in the IVCC network.

  6. 06

    Building and training teams

Setting up a testing site and training its technical team, as he did in Benin from 2003 and again in Bouaké, where he created the VCPEC-IPR.

CREC Cotonou 2003 to 2015, VCPEC-IPR inaugurated in 2019, twelve master's students supervised

Who it is for

  • Manufacturers

Testing a net or an insecticide before it is submitted to WHO, in experimental huts and in a GLP-certified laboratory.

  • National programmes

Knowing which tools still work against the country's resistant mosquitoes before choosing them. He already advises the national programmes of Côte d'Ivoire and Benin.

  • WHO and funders

Designing multi-site evaluations and giving an expert opinion on trial protocols and results.
